how to shop for a used electric guitar?
Question:
I am in the market for a modern guitar. what would be a checkoff list to check for problems?
Answer: There are a few good places to check this out.
1) Pawn shop. Unfortunately the vices in a music business sometime claims a few too many musicians to sell of "unnecessary" instruments. Just look for any place with the three golden ball in front of it and ask for where any musical instruments are shown.
2) Craig's List. Just put up a "wanting to buy" for an electric guitar. Amazing what comes back from a post like that.
3) Yard Sales in well to do neighborhoods: You can always fine a nice electric guitar that some rich kid wanted during their high school years after seeing too much MTV. These things usually have low mileage and was only used for a few months before the kids moved to another fad.
Good luck. Also, you may want to consider building your own. It is a good deal of time but very satisfying. There is a lot of resources on how to do that.
